Basic 35mm Camera Orientation

Step 1: Digital cameras are different from 35mm film load cameras in a few different ways the digital cameras use a series of different reflex mirrors so you can see your image through your lens it also does not use film. while in film load cameras you use film that reacts with the light when it comes in through the lens because of the chemical that is on it then you remove the film from the camera and develop them in water.

 Step 2: 


a) What does the term "The Rule of Thirds mean? (1)
It is when you split your image into 3 vertical, and 3 horizontal lines with your subject on one of the cross points


b) What happens when you have a long shutter speed, and what types of pictures would you use a long shutter speed for? (2)
the longer your shutter stays open the more light and motion it captures and the stiller you need to stand. this is great for taking night time photos.

c) What's another name for aperture, and what does an aperture control? (2)
an F stop. it controls how much of your photo is in focus as well as how much light goes through your lens.

d) What aperture setting would I need to take a portrait? (1)

e) What is depth of field? (1)
it is the range of distance within the subject that is in focus

f) What does the term ISO refer to? (1)
Light sensitivity of your camera's sensor

g) What are the advantages of having your camera on Manual Mode? (1)
You can control every aspect of your photo

h) Give me three terms that relate to exposure. (3)
Shutter speed, IOS, and aperture

I) What is a lens and what are the three different types of lenses? (4)
a lens is the piece of glass attached to the front of your camera. Prime lenses, zoom lenses, and fast/slow lenses.

j) What does it mean to focus your camera? (1)
it is what can be clearly and sharply seen in the depth of field

k) What does "shooting speed mode" determine? (1)
the amount of pictures the camera will take while the shutter is pressed down

l) How is the "Raw" file different than the "JPEG" file? (1)
RAW is a much larger file. Jpeg is more commonly seen on the internet.
